Grant scheme - Imperial College London
These grants are only available to registered PhD students
The grant
The
grant will be €1.000 per month, for periods from two weeks to six
months and will be awarded by the sending university. Each IDEA League
university can currently offer a total of 36 months of grants.
Subject areas
Students
interested should find a project related to the IDEA League networks in
Energy, Environment, Healthcare, ICT or Sustainable Mobility/Transport.

Application deadlines
30 April and 30 October 2010 each year.
Application procedure
- Student
makes contact with academic at chosen partner institution via their
supervisor, and receives written agreement (by email from institutional
email address or post).
- Student hands in application documents (application form
[doc], short research proposal, letter of recommendation from tutor or
supervisor, agreement email by academic at partner institution) to
Imperial's International Office (address see below) by the deadline.
- Successful candidates informed 2-3 weeks after deadline.
- International
Office provides payment of the grant (paid in UK bank account as
standard procedure) and looks after administrative matters in
collaboration with the equivalent office at the partner university.
Students will remain inscribed in their home universities, where they
will pay their tuition fees.
- After return to Imperial College
London each student has to provide a brief report (1 page A4) on their
project to the International Office as well as a one-paragraph summary
of their stay at the host institution, as well as a photograph of
themselves in the host lab to the International Office, which may be
used for publication in Imperial College media.
- Students participating in the grant scheme will be listed on the IDEA web following the visit.
