Education

Q6: Is vertical mobility possible for all Masters' courses available at the IDEA universities?

A: Yes, if you have a relevant Bachelor's degree. Entering a Master's programme, students will be treated in the same way as students of the host institution (subject to local selection procedures).

With a certificate of Bachelor-level equivalence (issued at Aachen and in some cases at Imperial College London), vertical mobility is possible only in subject areas where corresponding departments of the universities have agreed to do so. The list of programmes is available in the study abroad section.

Q7: I am a new graduate engineer with an outstanding academic record in my four year BE. I did all my studies in English and I want to do my Master's studies at your university in the next session. Please send the application and prospectus to my postal address. I want to apply for the IDEA League scholarship available at your university.

A: The IDEA League scholarship is only for existing students at the IDEA League universities (Imperial College London, TU Delft, ETH Zürich, RWTH Aachen and ParisTech). You have to have a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from one of these universities to be eligible.

The IDEA universities each have an MSc programme for students from abroad and details of other, non-IDEA League scholarships are available at:

Q8: I want to apply for the Joint Master's course in Applied Geophysics. Where do I get information about e.g. application procedures from?

A: For all administrative matters concerning the Joint Master's course in Applied Geophysics, please contact the International Office at TU Delft.

For questions concerning academic matters contact Dr. Hansruedi Maurer from ETH Zürich or Dr. Evert Slob from TU Delft.

Q9: I am interested in the IDEA League Student Grant. How do I proceed?

A: The IDEA League student grant allows a student from an IDEA League partner university to work on a reseach project in another IDEA League partner universitiy for up to six months. For that, you need to find a research project relating to one of the IDEA League Networks (Energy, Environment, Health, ICT or Mobility).

As a first step you should get into contact with the International Office of your university, which will handle the logistics of your exchange.

They will put you in contact with the local representative of one of the Networks. This professor can assist you with the choice of your project, and will be able to establish a contact with a colleague at an IDEA League partner university suitable for your project. It is important that you do not contact the professors from other IDEA League universities yourself; your only concact persons are the local representatives of the Networks.
