Evert Slob received his M.Sc. in Mining And Petroleum Engineering in 1989 and his Ph.D. (cum laude) in Technical Sciences in 1994, both from TU Delft.
In 1994, he was a visiting scientist at Schlumberger-Doll research (Ridgefield, USA) and in 1995 he returned to TU Delft. Since 2004, he has been Associate Professor in the Applied Geophysics and Petrophysics Section of the Department of Geotechnology. In 1994, he served as General Chairman of the Tenth International Conference on Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR2004). He is Associate Editor with special responsibility for ground-penetrating radar for the journals "Near Surface Geophysics" and "Geophysics".
His current research interests include advanced multi-component imaging and inversion techniques, heterogeneity determination and soil characterization, including the study of fundamental relationships between geological and electromagnetic properties of soils and rocks and their scale dependency.
