Application and admission

Applications must be submitted to Delft University of Technology. The closing date fpr applications is 1 July for students from EU/EFTA countries and 1 June  for students from other countries. Applications should be submitted to:

The applications must contain the required signatures and certified copies. Students who expect to complete their Bachelor's degrees in the period immediately prior the beginning of the Joint Master's programme may submit their applications anytime during their final year; acceptance in the programme will then be conditional on the students obtaining the necessary degrees.

To allow applications to be efficiently tracked through the TU Delft admission system, applicants should send a short statement by email to Ms Roelien Goedvolk (msc2@tudelft.nl) and Professor Hansruedi Maurer (maurer@aug.ig.erdw.ethz.ch) that they have submitted their application.

Language Requirements

The language of instruction is English. All students are required to have sufficient proficiency in English to participate in classes taught in English.

Applicants from non EU/EFTA countries whose mother tongue is a language other than English or who have not followed all their secondary and tertiary education in English need to submit one of the following language test results:

Applicants from EU/EFTA universities

Applicants who have received high-quality Bachelor’s degrees in appropriate subject areas (e.g. earth sciences, environmental sciences, physics, engineering) from European universities are eligible to enter the joint Master’s programme.

Applicants from universities in other countries

Applicants who have received high-quality Bachelor’s degrees (e.g. a minimum upper second-class honours in the U.K. type of system or minimum grade-point averages of 75% in other systems) in appropriate subject areas (e.g. earth sciences, environmental sciences, physics, engineering) from top universities in other countries may be eligible to enter the Joint Master’s programme.

Certified copies of documents should bear original logos and original stamps of the offices that issued the original documents. Alternatively, certified translations should bear original logos and stamps of the sworn translators who did the translations. Forms and letters of reference should also bear original signatures.
